13:40 - The opening race of the day is a fillies nursery and looks like it could be the hardest race of them all. There is no doubt that Richard Hannon's inmate Vesnina will be popular in the market but marginal preference is for ESCRICK. It took David Simcock's filly 4 runs to get off the mark in maidens, but she has a fair opening mark of 73 and shouldn't find the step up to 6.5 furlongs to be a hindrance. At likely big odds, a chance is taken on her.
14:10 - Next up, we have the fillies group 3 Sceptre Stakes, which looks like it's going to be a fascinating renewal. JOYEUSE is the one I've sided with here, as she showed plenty of speed when winning a listed race in May. Her last race seems disappointing on paper but it's likely the step up to group 1 level was an ask too far. She can capitalize now dropped in grade. The progressive Bragging and Ed Dunlop's Amazing Maria can give her most to think about.
14:40 - The Park Hill Stakes is up next, yet another fillies group race. Seal of Approval will be fancied to get back to winning ways here but VENUS DE MILO may be the one to beat. Aiden O'Brien's filly can be excused her last run behind stablemate Tapestry and Taghrooda in the Yorkshire Oaks, when she was virtually pulled up. She has class and the step up in trip may end up suiting her.
15:15 - A hugely competitive 2 year old handicap can find itself being the ideal opportunity for BOND'S GIRL to get back in front. After winning her first two starts, she had a respectable run in the Albany before running a screamer dropped backed to handicap level, running on late to finish fourth behind potential sprint superstar Tiggy Wiggy in the Newbury Super Sprint, who has since won a handy group 2. Stepping up to 6 furlongs, she looks certain to run a big race here. One of 7 seven runners in the race for Richard Fahey. Mattmu and Heartbreak Hero can fill the places.
15:45 - Another open handicap which can go the way of John Gosden inmate LONG CROSS. Justifiably the favorite for the race, he ran out a comfortable winner on his second start, and may be a cut above the rest here if progressing the way Gosden's horses have been doing as late. Bang in form stable and a good chance for him to open his handicap account. The Corsican looks the likely threat for David Simcock.
16:25 - A strange race here, which should see Limousine and Blue Waltz head the market. A lot with a chance in here but a chance is taken on YOJOJO, who ran a huge race when second at Brighton last time out, and makes appeal off the same mark here. Booking of Richard Hughes is of interest also.
17:00 - A maiden mostly comprising of first timers. Of the horses with experience, KING OF NORMANDY makes most appeal. 4th on debut in France, he will surely make a step up from that, and with natural progression, should be the one to beat. Of the newcomers, Brutus and Bohatem look like the ones to keep an eye on, with decent connections and some decent entries.
17:35 - The final race of the day, a sprint handicap, can go the way of MISSION APPROVED. Persistently running big races, you feel his time may be coming to pick up a win somewhere, and after running Barnet Fair down to a short head last time out at Goodwood, he can go one better here. Bajan Bear and Souville are others to consider.
Well, I hope this was helpful to you and hope you can get a few winners from here, I'll be doing day 3 of the meeting tomorrow evening after the racing has finished, so expect that to be up sometime tomorrow night!
